Not a job for an 80 year old pensioner?

Well, since the weather has been so atrocious, I haven't exactly felt like getting out our tall ladder and climbing two stories to reach the alarm bell unit, fumbling to remove the cover retaining screws, disconnecting the two batteries and replacing the whole lot, before making my shaky way down again then struggling to store the ladder.

I HAVE checked the batteries, capacities and then their ability to retain charge, which seems reasonable from their base readings of 6.1 and 6.3 volts. The rest I shan't know until the wind drops, the rain stops and I feel able to get my 80 year-old body to do climb up again and replace the batteries - etc!

Of course if you had a service engineer who wanted to show a poor old pensioner how to do the job, I wouldn't say no! Thanks.
