New changes to government legislation mean that from July 1st 2018 it will be illegal for a member of the public to purchase a motorcycle battery that is supplied with a separate acid pack without them holding an Explosives Precursors and Poisons (EPP) licence. This will have far reaching effects for motorcycle battery consumers.

Hardwarexpress offer an over the counter while you wait motorcycle battery filling service (This service is only for brand new "conventional dry charged" batteries) When you purchase a new battery from us or any other supplier we will fill the battery with a specific gravity of electrolyte (Acid) for use with new batteries. You can also bring batteries with you which have been purchased from another supplier (Must be New Un-filled). Please note this service excludes charging the battery, if you require charging this can be offered although you cannot collect for 24 hours (Mon to Fri) This service is only offered at our Coventry branch counter service

Motorcycle Battery Filling Service £15 per battery (Up to 1 litre of electrolyte)
We will fill the battery with a specific gravity of electrolyte (Acid) for use with new batteries 38% Sulphuric Acid specific gravity 1.28kg/litre. This service is offered Mon to Fri from 9am to 2pm while you wait (Excludes weekends & Bank holidays) - Please note this service is free if you have purchased a battery directly from hardwarexpress within the last 7 days. We charge an additional £7 for each litre of electrolyte.

Motorcycle Battery Charging £10
(Allow 24 hours for us to charge the battery) This service is offered Mon to Fri from 9am to 2pm (Excludes weekends & Bank holidays) - A printed test report will be included to verify the battery performance once fully charged
